Final Keiko for 2021 – Thursday 16th

This Thursday 16th December is our final class for 2021, so we will have a special training class followed by a meal and celebration somewhere locally. It has been another disrupted year for the dojo and a particularly tough year for many of us, but amongst all the cloud there has been some silver linings.

Come along on Thursday and lets celebrate all the positive events and experiences, no matter how small that have graced us over 2021.

If you can’t make it to training you are welcome to come along and share a meal/ drink with us. Looking forward to seeing you all πŸ™‚

Ryde Aikido is back !!

Starting today Ryde Aikido will re-open again to double vaccinated aikidoka!! To comply with the Public Health Orders and our COVID safety plan we will need to see your COVID-19 vaccination certificate upon entry to the dojo. Please make sure you have it handy. Our other covid safety requirements (check-in and screening etc) will continue as before.

It’s been a long and enduring break with lockdown this year and we’re looking all forward to dusting off the cobwebs and getting rolling again….. in time for our 12th anniversary! We look forward to seeing you all again.

Training will be at the usual times: arrive 6:30 for a 7:00 – 8:30 pm class every Tuesday and Thursday.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Thursday Class cancelled

With our instructors either away for work this week or in isolation awaiting COVID testing results we will have to cancel tomorrow evening’s class. We will also check the new restrictions that come in this evening and adjust any training to comply. Your health and safety remains our primary concern.

Normal training will resume on Tuesday (unless otherwise advised). See you all then.

Training tonight is still on

Just a quick note to say that I have sought public health advice and Aikido training will still be on tonight as usual but you are reminded not to attend if you are unwell or have been to any of the case locations listed on the NSW Health website: Current COVID-19 case locations | NSW Government

Please note, in view of the new COVID restrictions that come in at 5pm tonight, you will need to wear a mask travelling to/ from training on public transport and in any indoor public locations. Participants will not need to wear a mask whilst training, but any spectators in the dojo will need to wear a mask. We look forward to seeing you this evening.

Special training Thursday 11th March

Hi all,

Steve Seymour (6th Dan) has kindly agreed to teach at Ryde dojo on Thursday 11th March. Steve is an inspiring and insightful teacher and we expect it to be a popular class. Everyone is welcome of course but we do have a limit on numbers in line with our COVID safety plan, so if you are planning to come along please contact us in advance so we can accomodate all.
We hope you to see you there.

Class fee changes for 2021

Please note that from 2021 there will be a small increase in our regular Adult class fee to help cover costs.

Class fees for a casual adult class will increase from $18 to $20 for the regular 1.5 hour class. The monthly fee will remain unchanged at $100/ month (payable at the start of the month).

Our Student/ unemployed/ hardship fees will remain unchanged at $10/ class (or $60/ month).

The $95 annual fee (due from now) will also remain unchanged. (This can be paid in instalments if required.)

Ryde Aikido is a non-profit dojo and all instructors are volunteers so we aim to keep costs to a minimum. However, if these fee changes pose any difficulty for you (particularly in the current economic climate) please feel free to speak confidentially with us regarding another arrangement.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Just a short note to remind everyone that we start back at training this week with our first class for 2021 tomorrow night – Yay!

In addition to our other COVID-19 safe practices in place we now have a QR code sign-in system, so please come prepared to sign in via your mobile phone for each class. You will be asked to show that you have checked-in at each class from now on.

We look forward to seeing you all back on the mat tomorrow! πŸ™‚
