End of Year Special Keiko – Thursday 15th Dec.

Next week will be our last training for 2016 at West Ryde dojo, so on the Thursday (15th Dec) we’ll be having a special end of year keiko, followed by dinner and drink nearby to celebrate the dojo’s 7th year, Christmas and everyones progress throughout the year.

We will also put together a short message to send to Takeda Sensei from West Ryde Dojo for his upcoming 77th birthday. (77 is a significant birthday in Japan.) Please make an effort to come along to celebrate what has been a great year of training and growth for us all at West Ryde.

If you can make the dinner please let Jeff or Rebecca know so that we can book the restaurant. Thanks

(Note: The venue will be closed for about 6weeks, so our first class for 2017 at the dojo will be Tuesday 31st January. )

Aikido classes will resume 28th January

Unfortunately we can’t get access to the dojo next week so we will have to have a short break and resume Aikido classes again on Thursday 28th January. Apologies for this everyone, but it is something our of our control.

I hope you all have a great week and enjoyable Australia Day holiday. Look forward to seeing you all on the 28th!

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

2015 has been fun-filled year with lots of opportunities for training together as well as with others thanks to the many visiting instructors we have had grace our shores. Its been great to see the remarkable progress of everyone within the dojo over the year, and next year looks to continue the tradition with planned visits from travelling Sensei’s – stay tuned for details as they emerge.

But for now, we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Christmas-New Year break and I look forward to training together with you all again in 2016 – Classes will resume on Tuesday 12th January.

Take care everyone

6th Anniversary training this Thursday

It was AKI Ryde Aikido’s 6-year anniversary last week. Wow, can you believe it? Sometimes it seems like the years have just flown by.

So we’re going to celebrate with an anniversary training on Thursday followed by dinner at a local restaurant (to be confirmed).

Training will start a little earlier – about 6:45pm so please make sure you are there early to help prepare the dojo. And it looks like we might have a couple of sempai from our sister dojos joining us so it should prove to be an enjoyable evening. Hope to see you there!
