The end of October signifies the anniversary of Ryde Aikido dojo, so we’ll be celebrating another year with a special anniversary training on Thursday 26th October followed by dinner and refreshment at a local restaurant (to be confirmed).
Training will start a little earlier – about 6:45pm so please make sure you are there early to help prepare the dojo. It should prove to be an enjoyable evening. Hope to see you all there!
Don’t forget Ishii Sensei (7th dan) will be teaching the class at AKI Ryde dojo tonight! Class will run from 7:00-8:30pm, but please be there early to help prepare. Cost is $20 (or $5 for those who have paid monthly). Training will be followed by drinks and dinner somewhere locally.
It is both an honour and a wonderful opportunity to have such a senior Sensei visit our dojo. We look forward to seeing you all there tonight!
Great News! Iishi Sensei (7th Dan) has agreed to take the class at AKI Ryde dojo on Thusday 6th July – just before heading to Canberra for the weekend gasshuku.
Iishi Sensei is a long term student of Yamaguchi Sensei and it is a real honour to have such a senior Sensei run a seminar in our dojo. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to learn from such an experienced teacher.
Hope to see you all there on the 6th July (that’s Thursday week).
Unfortunately we’re unable to get access to the dojo this Tuesday (25th April) as its the Anzac Day public holiday, so there will be no class this Tuesday evening. Everything is back to normal for Thursday – See you all then!
Next week will be our last training for 2016 at West Ryde dojo, so on the Thursday (15th Dec) we’ll be having a special end of year keiko, followed by dinner and drink nearby to celebrate the dojo’s 7th year, Christmas and everyones progress throughout the year.
We will also put together a short message to send to Takeda Sensei from West Ryde Dojo for his upcoming 77th birthday. (77 is a significant birthday in Japan.) Please make an effort to come along to celebrate what has been a great year of training and growth for us all at West Ryde.
If you can make the dinner please let Jeff or Rebecca know so that we can book the restaurant. Thanks
(Note: The venue will be closed for about 6weeks, so our first class for 2017 at the dojo will be Tuesday 31st January. )
Unfortunately we can’t get access to the dojo next week so we will have to have a short break and resume Aikido classes again on Thursday 28th January. Apologies for this everyone, but it is something our of our control.
I hope you all have a great week and enjoyable Australia Day holiday. Look forward to seeing you all on the 28th!
